looks like I'll either have to fight legally, or maybe take the disability. got to go for a meeting next week so the insurance company can explain what will happen if I dont get to go back. then if I dont accept going out on disabillity, they're going to send me to a COMPANY doctor to prove I can do it. I'm sure he'll be told not to pass me. I guess if the disability will pay me close to the same for the next 20 years, I'll take it instead of a major legal battle.
whats wild is some guy was out longer than me and just came back and didnt have to do any of this. hell, they've already hired a replacement for me. doesnt sound like I have much of a chance. dont see how they can do this testing to me and not anyone else. seems like I'm singled out to get rid of.
pretty much down right now. you try and do a sticking job that helps people and next thing you know, they want you gone. whats wild is a few years back I won paramedic of the year, probably saved more than most of those idiots and now they question if I can do the job and nothing like that even matters.
oh well. got to wait for all the meeting and stuff. for now, I'm in limbo on it.

That sucks man. I would've thought that after all I'd heard about paramedics and firemen being a "brotherhood", that type of shit wouldn't go on in that industry. Sad to hear I'm wrong.
I'm sure everything will work out, though. Good luck.

I work for a fire protection district. payed by taxes.
and the only thing I've ever done is speak my mind when things were wrong. sometimes they really didnt care for that. and its extememly political field. the other firefighters that are shop stewards etc promote themselves and their friends. if you arent in with them, you get no where in the service.
also crOw, finally someone sees through that big brotherhood crap. I've been at two different depts and let me tell you, they'll cut your throat to get ahead or save they're ass. maybe somewhere in the world is different, but I doubt it. its a big show for the public imo. I trust people here more than I trust 99 % of those I work with. if it comes down to you or themselves, well youre screwed. TV really makes it look like a "super tight family or brotherhood", but believe me, I can tell you stories that would show you different.

Hmm perhaps if you have the funds you might consider moving down here....I am sure they can always use trained EMT's down here....
